1. High Competition
When the job market is tight, there are more competitors for each available position. If the contestants for an open position are all equally talented, a job seeker has to emphasize unique qualities in their job application to stand out from the competition.
2. Limited Openings
While there are millions of job opportunities available in the market, when considering the sheer number of job seekers competing for those positions, they are limited. Also, a particular candidate has to have the right qualifications, and skills and be in the right location to be considered for certain available roles.
3. Higher Qualification Demands
Employers tend to increase their demands when the competition is tough for open positions.
