The travel industry is experiencing the highest number of new job opportunities seen in four months today. However, the number of workers being placed in new positions has dipped to the lowest experts have seen in the last seven months.
C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment released their latest figures that suggest a strong rebound in new travel job vacancies, starting at the end of the summer holidays. The total number for September has also increased by 65% from that scene in August. This number is the highest seen since May 2022. Last year, around the same time the figure was 18% lower than this year’s value.
A rise in the number of job seekers searching for travel jobs was seen last month. This number is a 12% increase from that of August and an even higher 18% jump from last September. If we compare the values with the pre-pandemic era, September 2022’s total is 7% lower than that of September 2019. But it’s a 6% rise from the numbers seen in September 2018.
Although vacancies abound and candidates are interested, the number of job seekers receiving job offers decreased by 11% in September. This is the lowest figure seen since February.
Even still, the numbers seen last month are 32% higher than those in September 2021. A similar observation was made in September 2019 it has increased by 16% from September 2018.
Managing director at C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment, Barbara Kolosinska, says that "It was another very positive month for travel recruitment, with new candidates, vacancies and job placements all above their historical averages.”
She also states, “In particular, recent months have seen a huge increase in both vacancies and placements in the business travel sector, and we expect experienced business travel consultants to continue to be in extremely high demand in the months ahead."
